I got a reasonably well-known high school, with a large number of Ivy acceptances each year. However, my school does not rank. Does this completely eliminate the notion of rank as a factor?

I’m not completely sure but it could be possible that the college could easily request it.

Colleges are given enough grade distribution data to know where you rank. And they also use historical data from others accepted from your high school in years past.

If you look at freshman profiles for top colleges, you’ll see a sizeable % of freshmen went to hs that don’t rank. But, for kids at schools that do rank, yes, it’s a factor. One of many.

ps. Re: your chance-me: there are some inconsistencies in what you report. If you are serious, why no input from your GC?

@lookingforward

I’m sorry, I don’t understand. Are you asking me why I didn’t ask my guidance counselor for advice?
