School doesn't report rank?

<p>I know that when a HS doesn't rank the students the colleges have other ways of figuring out where a student is in their class. How can I figure out where I stand so I know which colleges I would be in the running for? Thanks.</p>

<p>If your school doesn’t report it, the colleges aren’t going to go to the trouble to figure it out. They don’t have that kind of time on their hands. They’ll have a general idea based upon your school’s report, which you can ask for, and their history with your school, but I really wouldn’t worry about it. There are much more important things to gauge which colleges you’re going to have a shot at other than class rank.</p>

<p>Colleges can interpolate your general rank based on the HS profile that is sent with your transcript. They do take the time to do that. And it is only one element considered in admission</p>
