Hello, I have looked at a lot of schools and I really like Drexel. The thing is that it is too expensive and since I want to go there as a transfer student, there is not a lot of financial help as if I went as a freshman. I would love to hear from other schools with secondary education programs, preferably with co op but no necessary that "B" student could get into. I will still apply to Drexel and see if I get more aid, but please tell me if you have other schools in mind

Generally, secondary education majors will complete student teaching or field experience. These are credit earning, but not usually paid.

Assuming you are a PA resident, the state directional schools (PASSHE), Temple and Arcadia provide the best “value” for secondary education. Arcadia does provide merit aid to transfers. Arcadia has fantastic study abroad.

Much as Drexel believes the Co-op provides proof to debunk the myth “those who can’t do teach”, Arcadia’s philosophy is that the study abroad enables the future teacher to enhance the classroom with real world global experience. If you prefer Drexel for adding a “dimension” to your experience, Arcadia may also be appealing.

The general rule for the Education field is to attend a college in the state you wish to teach.

If you are transferring from a Community College, be sure to look at Articulation Agreements. The Agreements often list guaranteed merit.

Thank you so much. I am not originally from pennsylvania, but I love everything about the state. I also like the teaching salary in some of its cities. I heard stuff about Arcadia before, but I never put too much thinking into it. but now I looked it up and it is a wonderful campus and the 5 year BA/MA program is amazing. It’s a nice city and the campus, WOW. It seems like a friendly place and I am eligible for a scholarship.

I am definitely visiting this University when I visit Drexel and see how I feel there. Thank you so much for your help. I am going to continue researching this university right now.

I just wish my dad would let me go next year so that i could live in the Grey Towers, but the studying abroad makes it worth the wait. Thank you again
