Hey CC Community,
What's Rutger's School of Engineering's reputation like with employers? Is it looked upon favorably? How is the school in general, is it fairly strong? Does anyone have any thoughts on the Chemical Engineering Department? Thanks!

Overall Rutgers School of Engineering has an excellent reputation in the academic and employment areas. The School of Engineering is consistently ranked in many undergraduate engineering rankings as one of the top 50 National Universities for Engineering. From what I understand its Chemical Engineering Program is very good. If you are looking for a particularly strong Chem Engineering Program not far away from NJ I could also recommend the Univ. of Delaware, which has one of the top Chem Engineering Programs in the country. In fact if you live in South Jersey below Camden it is faster to drive to the Univ. of Delaware than to drive to Rutgers in New Brunswick. Good luck.

Thank you very much. I live in North Jersey, but still Delaware isn’t too far away, I’ll have to look into it. Fortunately, I’ve already been accepted into Rutgers (SAS, SOE, and SOB), but had not looked much into it as I figured it was going to be my safety. But now as I see how financially responsible it would be to attend Rutgers, I’ve become increasingly interested in its Engineering school.

Its a great school. I know that people regularly get into HYPSM from their engineering program for grad school. Also, several gets hired to Lockheed Martin,Boeing and co as well. If you do your coursework well, participate in research and get your internships, you will be ready t ogo.
