I had invited my counsellor to the common app to submit school forms and transcripts a while back. Online in the "my colleges" page, there is a green check mark next to the tab "assign recommenders" and a green check next to counsellor. However in the box that lists school report, it says "school report. Started 10/7/2013." Does that mean it has been sent? My counsellor has told me that he has sent it in a while back and while the first time he tried he had some problems, the second time he tried it went through. However when I check my application status online for the school I applied it, it says that the documents have not been received yet my CA writing supplement and SAT scores have been. I'm starting to get really anxious as the deadline for the school forms and transcript are approaching (Nov 1). Can anyone shed some light on whether or not the forms have been submitted if there is a green check and it says started?

Started does not mean submitted. Submitted is the magic word you need to see. The counselor has left something undone. But, don’t panic if this isn’t resolved by Nov. 1. Even in normal years schools are a little lenient about deadlines for school, test and recommender materials. This year, that’s true nearly everywhere. A day or two late will very likely not be a problem.

Thank you so much. I will go and speak with my counsellor tomorrow. I am at a Canadian school and I don’t think my counsellors have ever used the Common App. I’m really hoping this will all get solved tomorrow. Again, thanks!
