School says they will know your financial aid 1 week after February 1st how is that possible?

How is that possible? I had to submit my Css profile so do they solely use that to determine how much money you get? Or is that just an estimate to the real one? Thanks

The financial aid Forecast you receive will be based on the Profile data you provided. If the numbers you provided were accurate then nothing should change. If you used estimated info then the final FA offer may be different.

Did you apply early action or early decision? My daughter applied to two schools early action and had both financial aid estimated awards before the end of January…one based on Profile, the other on a school form.

If a school uses the Profile, that is the main source of financial information for determining institutional financial aid.

You might get an award by February first but it will be pending the accuracy of your 2014 actual completed taxes…and yes…if there is a difference between your estimated Profile and the info on your taxes, your aid could be adjusted.

I guess it’s estimated. Used actual 2013 tax data which is accurate but 2014 might be off slightly as salary is more by 2k. And yes it’s ed2. Hopefully that won’t impact it much. My efc is 19k but their calculator says its 16,400…
