School suggestions for my brother

I went through the college process last year and now I'm trying to help my brother find a school. His stats aren't very impressive, I know.

He really wants to go to school in California or Arizona, but my parents would prefer for him to stay in the midwest. He doesn't have a major yet but would like something involving sports and/or business.

Top 70% at a top 100 public school
3.0 UW
Very easy schedule (No APs, No Honors, took some general-level classes)
21 ACT

ECs:

Job (1-year)
10 hrs community service
JV Soccer (1-year)

Strong essays, recs: ?

Any suggestions on where he should be looking? He's currently looking at Arizona, DePaul, the Big Ten schools, and anything in California.

Clemson maybe?

He can check out the CSU system here: http://www.calstate.edu/

What about ASU? That was very popular with some of the less "impressive" kids at my school.

Some of the Claremont Colleges (in CA), like Pitzer, aren't too hard to get into. What about U of San Francisco, Santa Clara U, Loyola Marymount U, or Chapman U? Those were also very popular.

If he's willing to go further north, Oregon and Washington are also big draws.

PS. Orangeisland, Clemson is in South Carolina.

maybe UCSC

ASU has a very well regarded business school (23rd in the nation iirc), great climate, D-1 sports, awesome social scene, and is also very loose with entrance requirements.

For out of state your brother seems to have a good shot, as long as he has a C or higher in all the required classes he'll probably get in.

your brother has no shot at any public state universities in california.

the only school in the la area i see that might take him in is loyola marymount, and maybe pepperdine if he's lucky. both schools have a strong enough business program, but they are no USC of course.

Arizona State University I would think is a good match.

ua and asu

Michigan State has a top 30 business school and is achievable.

Also, Arizona is a good idea too.
