School wants offline forms sent online?

Hey everyone,

I emailed the school I'm applying to and they said that they preferred online submissions, and even when CommonApp says that the forms are offline, the school said to print them, complete them then submit them online.

So now I'm wondering, how would we do this and do we have to do this? I already have one professor recommendation in a sealed envelope, and I feel that opening it and scanning it really breaches the whole confidentiality issue.

Does anyone have an answer? Thanks!

I would love to be able to find a way to submit teacher recommendations online. Alas, I don’t think it’s possible for transfers.

Thanks for the reply! So I’m not just painfully blind to some secret magical button? That’s really comforting to know. I wonder why the adcom asked for them electronically? It seems so counter-intuitive to post the forms as “Offline Forms” then turn around and say “whoops, changed my mind!”

Will it be detrimental then if I send the forms via good old snail mail even after they have expressed a strong preference to have them sent electronically?

Why don’t you call and ask? Perhaps they don’t realize the situation.

Other than rec’s which are supposed to be confidential you could just scan and email the other stuff.
