The common app says not to mix and match online and paper forms. I intend to submit my application online, but the school forms are all in pdf format and look as though they are intended to be filled out on paper. How does this work? Do I submit everything online /except/ for the school forms? As far as instructor evaluations go, do my instructors mail them, or return them to me to mail?

Help is appreciated - this has confused me for quite some time :/

The recommendations will have to be filled out on paper; I’d assume the “mix and match” refers to the main application. Most school do not want you to send both paper and online versions.

You should give your instructors stamped, addressed envelopes for them to mail with clear instructions regarding due dates and requirements.

The school forms should be sent by mail by the school/professor, if you have waived your right to view the recommendation. Transfer common app does not allow for online submission of official forms. Make sure you provide them with stamped envelopes addressed to the admissions offices of the respective institutions. If you don’t waive your rights, you can ask them to give it to you so that you can mail it yourself.
