Schools for Actuarial science

<p>I currently go to Mount St. Mary's University in Emmitsburg. I have a 3.0 and I'm a freshman. I want to transfer to a school that actually has an actuarial science major....any recommendations for schools? Thanks.</p>

<p>I go to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), and UIUC offers Acturial Science as an area of study through the department of mathematics. So you'd basically get a degree in mathematics with a concentration in acturial science. I don't know much about acturial science, so I can't really comment on the quality of the program. But someone I know who's studying acturial science told me that UIUC has one of the largest Acturial Science programs in the nation. Here's a link that explains the program at UIUC: </p>

<p>Bentley College outside Boston prepares students for the actuarial exams ... I am not sure if they have a actuarial sciences major (but I bet you could create one) ... <a href="http://www.bentley.edu%5B/url%5D"&gt;www.bentley.edu&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p>

<p>There is a list of colleges that offer actuarial sciences if you google the subject and research the sites. But as you are currently in a Catholic school in MD, a nearby choice that may be a comfortable transition is Loyola U. That is where I studied to get my exams many years ago.</p>
