Abilene Christian does not guarantee to meet full need for enrolled students (domestic or international) so it’s unlikely the college will offer you enough additional FA to make attendance possible. But it doesn’t hurt to ask. Your mother & stepfather will need to fill out FAFSA in order to be eligible for need based aid at ACU.
This will be the best place for you to start your research about finding a suitable college. Some states specifically prohibit enrolling undocumented students in public colleges & universities. Some colleges have policies that don’t allow undocumented students to enroll.
Your undocumented status together with your high financial need is going to make finding an affordable college difficult.
One my step dad has a social security number, so I don’t think I will be able to fill out fafsa, but I’m filling the CSS and I think there is something called the TAFSA I will check it out
This student is not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident green card holder. He is not eligible for U.S. federally funded need based aid…at all…and actually with his current status is not eligible to complete a FAFSA…which is for U.S. citizens and permanent resident green card holders.
This student needs to find out if any aid is available for undocumented students at his schools. And he needs to find out the application process for aid for international students…because that is what he is right now.
The Profile can only be submitted to colleges that USE the Profile. I don’t believe any of the instate public universities in Texas use the Profile.
In terms of medical school…I would suggest that be put on the back burner for now.
I think you should solve your residency status in the USA first before applying for any school. If that takes a gap year, that is what you should do. Because most scholarships/aids are being handed out for the Freshmen applicants. Once you are in, you won’t be considered the best aid possible. Especially if your high needs are real, ie $1000/year out of pocket.
I have no suggestions for TX or any schools in the USA because of my lack of knowledge of NO cost universities with your stats. You should apply wide and broadly, once your immigration status is cleared. Med school in the USA is a graduate school, right now, you have nothing to do with that, it is at least 4 years away.
