Which boarding schools provide laptops to students? The only one I know of so far is Deerfield.

Could you please say which school you are speaking of and what laptop is given?

Ex:

Deerfield-Macbook
Hotchkiss- Macbook
Choate- Dell Inspirion

You get the idea.

Thanks in advance.

Kent-changes every year. this yr is an hp which is pretty cool

Kent doesn’t “provide” the computers. There is a mandatory purchase. Big. Difference.

Some schools provide a grant for the purchase of a computer to students receiving FA, but it varies from school to school and student to student.

no, this year they were provided

The price is part of required tuition and fees. I remember distinctly the line item for “required laptop purchase.” They probably handed them out once you got there, but unless that expense was covered under FA (and it wasn’t for my son), the computer was paid for by your parents under the “fees” part of “tuition and fees” in the same way health and technology fees are billed as their own line items.

I remember it because I added up all what it would cost for my son to attend each school to which he was accepted.

OK. I dug a little on the Kent website and saw where they announced after April 10th that they were able to roll the cost into the tuition and had reduced parent’s bills accordingly. So, bookluvr is correct and I’m not going crazy. I suppose I never got that memo since son didn’t enroll.

Settled!

I believe Exeter does Dell Studio’s BUT:
they also give discounts on almost every brand of computer besides Dell, this just happens to be the biggest discount
