I love the majors and location (large city) of BU.

Any other similar schools with acp rate around the same?

Any other similar schools with acp rate around the same?

Northeastern, NYU, Pitt, McGill, Toronto, George Washington,

I completely agree with ^ in that George Washington University is strikingly similar, however I would say that other schools mentions (Northeastern, NYU) are slightly more selective than BU

Definitely GWU. Also, you should check out Villanova and DePaul.

This thread is a little old but some helpful advice to anybody that views this as they do their applications this year.

The selectivity difference is going to be negligible for this coming cycle, last year BU was 34% and they drew a larger pool of freshmen than they meant to (NYU/NEU - 32%, GWU - 33% for comparison). So expect it to fall a little (the other schools also fall slightly).

I think this impression Dpenn has comes from BU getting a little oblivious to Northeastern creeping up in US news rankings and not really responding with similar self-marketing until maybe 2011-2012.

But since then they’ve started to act and the acceptance rate has gone from like nearly 50% 3 years ago to what it is now. So don’t be lazy on your essays and treat the school like a safety.
