I need a few more safeties on my list, and it seems like everyone from my school gets into Colgate. My only problem with the school is that it's in the middle of nowhere. I don't need an NYU, but I would like some culture besides what's offered by the school. I want to major in IR or Public Health. Small class size is essential, but I don't care how big the student body is, as long as it's bigger than ~2500 students. Thanks! Also, my favorite schools so far are Georgetown and Tufts, if that helps.

You could try looking into Crest and Sensodyne

I would never consider Colgate a safety. There is a lot to do on campus, but it is definitely isolated. Smaller, but maybe Swarthmore- also not a safety. Boston College?

might look at Holy Cross-long time rival of Colgate. Holy Cross has very nice campus 1 hour from Boston.

Check out Macalester College, which is about equally selective as Colgate. Mac is one of the few LACs located IN a city (St. Paul, MN). It seems to have a strong International Studies program.
Among larger and slightly less selective schools, consider George Washington and American University. Both are located in Washington DC. Both have well-regarded IR programs.

I wouldn’t consider any school mentioned so far as safeties (unless your qualifications are truly exceptional and cost is not a factor at all.) These are probably “match” schools. To find safeties, start with your in-state public universities.
