I hope this is the right place to post this. I recently visited Roger Williams University in RI. I really liked this school a lot, but of course need to find other schools to apply to also. Does anyone have any suggestions for schools that might be similiar. I liked the way that the school was a close community and not really spread out.

I am also wondering if there are other schools down the east coast that might be on the water. I did visit Salve Regina already.

Biokid, some other schools that are on the water are Endicott (MA), Franklin Pierce (NH), St. Marys of Maryland, University of Maine (Orono) and CT. College.

Posting on the parent board is a great idea. If you are willing to go southeast you might look into Eckerd College, or some NC schools. I know that UNC-W is a few minutes from the beach. There are other schools in NC that are near the beach, but I don't know which one.

In Vermont, Champlain College overlooks Lake Champlain. If memory serves me correctly, they have some kind of sailing club/team.

I think that Marist College is along the Hudson River.

I think that there is beach near the University of Rhode Island campus (think that they have a strong marine biology program).

Salve Regina has an incredible campus in an unbelievable location. It is a good sized campus and most of the juniors and seniors live off campus. We weren't able to see classes/dorms so I don't have an opinion either way at this point. Newport is just a great place to be so I intend to go to an Open House so that I can get more detailed info.

College of Charleston in South Carolina is close to the coast, and has a marine research lab right on the water. So does Northeastern U in Boston. The marine research lab is in Nahant I believe.
