Schools like UPenn or USC

I am wondering if you guys know of any schools similar to UPenn or USC. I am looking to buff up my college list a bit more, with schools of a variety of difficulty (reaches, targets, and safeties).

The parts of these schools I want to replicate are mainly the flexibility in their business programs (ability to get a very wide base of business rather than just focusing on a couple topics) as well as the pre-professional emphasis. I am not intending to “learn for the sake of learning” but rather go to college to learn skills and get started on my path towards a career. I like how much help and emphasis these schools give towards this goal of mine. I also like the great connections they have to successful companies and people.

I am very interested in technology and business, with my dream job being to run a technology corporation. I also love marketing and economics. Overall, I am very social and people based, but am interested in gaining many more technical skills as well.

Other things I care a lot about in a school are spirit (especially sports based), location (i like sunny weather better but don’t care too much, and really want to be in or near a city), and general quality of teachers/skill in business school.

What other schools are like these? Again, these could be reach, safety, or target schools for me.

Thanks!

Northeastern University: in Boston, very pre-professional in nature, strong in business, great for making connections as you co-op. It doesn’t have the warm weather you’re looking for, and it’s probably weaker in school spirit than you’d like.

Although not in a warm, sunny location, Northwestern University students have options to earn certificates from the Kellogg School of Business.

The University of Texas also offers programs which match your interests.

SMU sounds like a decent match. Possibly Tulane and U Miami as well.

I agree that you are likely to find SMU attractive if you are considering USC.
