Schools talk about who they accept/reject? Bates/Bowdoin/Colby/etc

Hey,
I was curious if schools like Bates, Colby, and Bowdoin shared information with each other about what students they where planning on accepting/rejecting. I have heard that the ivy league does this as well. The idea is that if a school really wants a certain candidate they can ask the other schools to reject that candidate. It seems that these maine schools may do soemhting similar. I have heard of kids getting into only one of the three with excellent stats. Like some candidates have gotten into Bates with the same stats as the Bowdoin and Colby kids but got rejected from the other two. Does anyone have any information about this? Or maybe you can just buy into the conspiracy like me. lol.
P.S. I got into Bates, but was rejected from Bowdoin and Colby. =)

i don't think it's true, i have friends here at bowdoin who also got into one or both of the other schools. but who knows?! i have no official information.

No, I don't think so. I applied to Bates and Colby and was acceptd to both schools. I did not apply to Bowdoin.

The truth is, the admissions staff is much smaller than you think. It would take too much effort to arrange something like that on such a scale.

billprins, you already heard from bowdoin??? i know this is the wrong thread for this.. but when did you get your letter?? Sorry about your rejections.. I'd be really proud of getting into Bates though .. I had it the reverse with Colby.

They're both good schools and if you like one better than the other transfers within the B.B.C group of Maine schools is easy.
