Schools that accept Junior transfers (with 5 semesters)

I am a junior at a school that I want to get out of. I will have completed 5 semesters of coursework (4 at my first school, and I am in the middle of my 1 semester at my current school)... Can somebody please help me in finding colleges (on the east coast / northeast area) that do not require students to spend 2 years at their school? I know that is the case for most colleges, but there have to be some exceptions. Thank you so much.

[Accredited Online College | University of Maryland University College](http://www.umuc.edu) will accept up to three years of credits for transfer students. [Penn State | Online Degrees, Online Courses, and Online Certificates offered by Penn State](http://www.worldcampus.psu.edu/) and other similar distance ed programs may as well. Start with the public universities in your home state, and see what is available. Many of these programs do offer some live classes in satellite locations that could be an option if you hate the concept of online education.

A young person I know recently transferred to http://hood.edu/</a> with very generous acceptance of transfer credits, and will be able to finish in about three semesters. Check the second and third tier of LACs near where you are, there could be good options for you.

Couldn’t you apply as any standard 2-year transfer?

Edit: Oops, I see you don’t want to spend another full two years at the new school.

I’m in a similar situation, so I’ll ask it here instead of starting a new topic.

If I have done more than four semesters, can I transfer if I’m willing to do 2 full years at the university I’m going to transfer to?

As Numbersz said, how can I convey that I am willing to spend the necessary time at the college I’m going to? Also, is this a common practice? Or will adcoms just disregard my application?

Most colleges/universities will require that you spend two years there in order to receive their diploma. Simply by applying as a transfer student, you are indicating that you are willing to follow their policies should you be admitted.

Contact the transfer admissions office of each place on your list, and ask about their specific policies.
