<p>from my experience and my friends’ experiences, schools with large premed population and schools with a large pre-professional student population (ie IBanker, Management Consulting wannabes) are the most cutthroat.</p>
<p>I’ve heard Swarthmore’s students are incredibly competitive.</p>
<p>What about Cornell (Engineering) ?</p>
<p>we<em>tard</em>it: I’m going to go to Swarthmore next year, and when I visited I didn’t find them competitive. In fact, many students collaborate when they solve problems–I often saw people helping other students with problem sets or whatever, forming study groups and being very helpful. They may be competitive with themselves, but not with others, for the most part.</p>
