Schools that are not too Conservative or Liberal?

So I have recently identified that I really like schools that are equal on the Liberal/Conservative spectrum. Claremont McKenna and Williams top my list. If I had to have a school that wasn't 100% in the middle, I would want a school that leaned a little bit to the left. I like small liberal arts schools, under 3,000 students. I can probably get into some top-tier LAC's.

Any suggestions for schools I should look into? I don't care how prestigious a school is, as long as the education is good! :)

No colleges are “100% in the middle”… especially not Williams.

I agree with Anchser… there are no colleges that are right in the middle. Most colleges, including Williams and CMC, are quite left-leaning. Colleges that are not left-leaning will pretty much be bastions of conservatism because conservatives will all flock there. You can definitely find a place tolerant of all viewpoints, but that’s not the same as being balanced.

Vanderbilt is split evenly between conservatives and liberals.

Many of the best southern colleges are fairly moderate. Wake Forest and especially Davidson lean left, but they are more moderate than most other elite colleges. Furman, Rhodes, Sewanee, and similar LACs are also reasonably moderate.

Allegheny College is pretty middle of the road as well.

In the Northeast, Boston College, Lehigh, and Colgate seem pretty middle of the road as well.
