Schools w/ good creative writing and no core curriculum

my two main criteria are a fantastic writing program and no core curriculum, because if i have to solve one more goddamn financial interest rate problem im going to shoot somebody. schools like Vassar and Amherst. suggestions?

hump de bump

maybe brown?

Sarah Lawrence, Bennington, Hampshire? Not to quibble with words here, but most college/universities nowadays have abandoned the core curriculum in place of "distribution requirements."

Can't speak for the others I named, but Hampshire for instance has requirements in the Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Cognitive Sciences, Arts, Humanities, and Cultural Studies... but the menu is so broad that you can find courses like Physics for Poets to satisfy your science requirement.

Also look at Kenyon.

Johns Hopkins--Writing Seminars department is rated #2 by USNWR (behind Iowa) and no core curriculum (just distribution and writing intensive course requirements).

Broooooooooown

Bard has a great writing program.

Rochester and Montana

Oberlin fits the criteria.
