Hi...I'm looking for grad schools that have an Asian-American Studies program (if they exist, I'd love to get a PhD in this). But if not, can anybody tell me what field I should go into so that I can pursue a PhD with a focus on Asian-American studies? Thanks!

There aren't many Asian-American Studies graduate programs. The best one is probably UCLA's M.A. in Asian American Studies: http://www.sscnet.ucla.edu/asianam/graduate.html

There also are schools with certificates or concentrations in Asian American Studies like UC Irvine: http://www.asianamerican.net/centers.html

I provided the wrong link to UC Irvine's Asian-American Studies graduate emphasis. Here's the right link: http://www.humanities.uci.edu/aas/grad/grad.php

But the directory link is helpful too: http://www.asianamerican.net/centers.html

Most scholars in Asian-American areas have PhDs in other disciplines. The most common are American Studies and Ethnic Studies, but some hold doctorates in History, Sociology, Religion, etc.

Thanks! ^_^
