Schools with an undergrad in Deaf Education.

Helol all of you lovely people,
I want to do my undergrad major in Deaf Education.
This isn't a widely-offered program.
On Collegeboard, MANY schools are listed, but after checking the actual respective school's websites, it is not offered!
I'm only aware of maybe 9 schools that offer this major.
Do you know of any other resources that are especially helpful, or even better: do you know any schools that offer it?

Thanks!

(By the way, no, I do not want to go for ASL or Interpretation. I am interested in Deaf Education.)

Have you tried asking Mr Google?

He tells me: [DeafEd Teacher Prep. Programs](DeafEd.net)

RIT is one of the schools mentioned in the link I posted.

I’m pretty sure RIT has one. My friend’s brother is deaf and he goes there and they have a major emphasis on the deaf and hearing impaired

Cal State Northridge

Gallaudet?

CuriousJane is right, Gallaudet. It is a school that only admits people with hearing disabilities

Boston University has a undergrad Deaf Studies program. You do need a masters to be licensed in Massachusetts. I’m not sure about other states. ASL is required.

College Navigator is usually a helpful tool.

My search for “4-year” “public” or “private non-profit” schools that offer a “bachelor’s” degree in “Deaf Studies” and/or “Education/Teaching of Individuals with Hearing Impairments Including Deafness” resulted in these 24 schools. I would use this list to then go to each college’s website to see if they offer the program you are looking for.

Best of luck!

Northeastern University offers a deaf studies/ASL major with a minor in education and allows for a student teaching co-op.

The nice thing about RIT is you get a greatly reduced tuition if you are majoring in a program sponsored by NTID (and I think this would be).
