UPenn has a good one, methinks.

Uva Uva Uva.

uvajoe.........what are the names of the groups, and why are they SO good?

Smiffenpoofs (the oldest all-female group in the country). There are 11 groups at Smith - the most "interesting" is "Crapapella".

Nowadays just about every school has at least one decent a cappella group. Here are some results from one of last year's college competitions:

Note that I have heard superb a cappella groups from many schools that did not place in this contest.

Johns Hopkins All Nighters and Octopodes.

you will find good a capella groups at every school

One of University of Pennsylvania's a capella groups was ranked first in the nation last year.

Harvard has a huge a capella scene, including the oldest college a capella group in the country.

IU Bloomington, but y'all don't seem to be looking at that sort of place :)

Singing Hoosiers rock!

A cappella seems to be as popular on campus these days as frisby and is becoming increasingly (and oddly) specialized. At Brown our tour guide told us that they have an all-male group that only sings pirate chanties! I understand that there are several groups at Williams.

The MIT Logarithms are amazing, believe it or not.

It's "Logarhythms", actually. :) (MIT a capella groups are heavy on the puns.) If you're not male, the Chorallaries are very good at MIT, too.

Dartmouth!

Brown has some excellent groups -- 15 in total, I think? . There are several all-male groups, several all-female groups, and several coed groups, not to mention some religious-based groups. The pirate group is called ARRRR, and there is a a group called the Ninjas whose sole goal is to chase the pirates. ;)

I know Cornell has several.. there's this group called Hangovers that has some heritage (?) I actually know someone who's a member.. and I think they're amazing!

Cornell- Hangovers, Cayuga's Waiters, Nothing But Trebble, Absolute Accapella, Last Call. . . .there are a ton more too. . . just can't think of them right now.

Wheaton Whims, Wheatones and Gentlemen Callers.

i just have to say....go marist sirens. go marist singers. go marist women's chorale.

you dont have to name an ivy for every post that asks for good quality.
