Schools with No Audition

I am new to this site, but have been reading for hours! You are all a wealth of info! My dd is a jr in hs and very much wants to major in dance. Her most desired place to attend is Pace. However, being realistic as I am, I am quite concerned with the competition to get in. My dd has danced for 13 years (ballet, pointe, jazz, lyrical, some modern). She is good, but aren't they all? There is so much talent out there! She would like to focus on modern or jazz. I would like for her to include some schools that have good dance programs, but do not require an audition to major. I feel like we need some "safety schools" in case she is rejected from all schools she applies to that require auditions. I do have Dance Magazine's College Guide, but would love some opinions of those in the know...you all! Oh, and I really would prefer she stay fairly close to the east coast. Thanks for your advice!

My daughter’s non-audition safety schools were Univ of Colorado at Boulder and Univ of Oregon.

My non audition schools are CUNY Hunter, Hofstra, Muhlenberg, and University of Maryland. I auditioned for scholarship at some of these schools. I believe Goucher and Columbia College Chicago (not east coast I know) are non audition as well, but double check. Some schools that offer both a BA and BFA might have a non-auditioned BA, cant remember what schools had this. It’s been a long process.

Thank you both for this information! I had some of those schools on our list and will look into the others.
