Well, you can doubt it all you want quirkily, but it's true.

i built the dell computer, the 14" on dell's website, and included the warranty and the software that Princeton gives you and it cost $1900. I built the same configuration in every other major laptop brand and they are all almost $2000. Just the warranty and the Microsoft Office Business that they give you cost $600 to $800 with any manufacturer. It looks like you save a ton of money

for any of you who have already ordered from sci,

did you get a confirmation e-mail for your order?

bump........ [10 chars]

i did not receive a confirmation email either...ill prob. just call them on Monday and see whats up.

From the Thank You page after ordering:

Thank you for your SCI order!

Princeton's OIT will send email to ______________ within three business days, confirming receipt of your order.

The SCI vendor will send email to ______________ within seven business days. The vendor email will include your order number and instructions for tracking your order. Please do not call the vendor before receiving a confirmation email from them; the vendor will have difficulty locating your order without an order number. Remember, although Princeton is facilitating your order, this transaction is between you and the SCI vendor.

SCI vendors have committed to shipping SCI orders within 16 business days.

I printed/saved a copy of the Thank You page just in case.

Hey guys, as indecisive as I am, I still havent gotten my laptop for this year yet. What are your opinions about the Dell Latitude d820? I was planning on getting an Inspiron e1505 (if i decided against a Mac). Do any computer techies out there know whether thats a better/worse deal? Thanks :)

I got my D820 from SCI. It's very nice (512MB video card O_O!).

I configured the same thing right from the Dell site including warranty and software and got something like $2300 or so?

It weighs 6lbs but that isn't too bad.

The only thing that surprised me was how... wide it was. My gosh that thing has a HUGE monitor.

Funny story though, because I wanted to upgrade my memory to 2GB (only cost $173.99 at Fry's :D), I was unscrewing the keyboard and accidentally dropped a screw into the notebook and got it stuck O_o. I had to disassemble the whole thing just to get a screw out and then put it back together. At least I know how to disassemble it now! :D Plus, 2GB of memory is verrryy nice.
