Science ACT help!

I am a rising senior that is going to take the ACT in September and I am struggling witht his section. Right now I have been working with the MCGraw hill book and the Princenson 1296 book. In started off with McGraw, and I was doing poorly (23's to 28's when I converted the raw score with the red book, since the McGraw scale is inaccurate) Then I switched to the princenston 1296 book, which is notorious for having a harder science section. When I did 2 full act practice tests I got a 27 and a 28! But then when I took another McGraw practice test I got a 23.... Can anyone give me tips to do better? Like improvements on my stragies perhpas?

My Stragies: skip passage and go straight to the questions, only go to the passage when needed (like if I am confused or something or if it is the 2 scientist passage)

The thing is I am a math and science person. I have taken honors chemistry (B+) and i will take honors physics next year and I have taken AP Computer Science (A and 5 on AP exam) and I am going to take AP Stat and AP Calc AB next year. The math section is a joke for me I get 33's, the reading is okay (29-31), english needs work (27-29), but science is killing me. Please help

hey! Im a science person too and I have done terribly on science…until now. I tried a completely different strategy and got a 35 on a practice test yesterday…I know its just a practice test but it was so much easier this way.
So Ive taken it three times…and im planning on one more time. This is what I have realized:
The first two times I did the whole “read first and last sentence of each paragraph and skim the rest” on reading. The third time, I read the passages thoroughly, was able to answer the questions much faster, and recieved a 36.

However, I was still getting a 26 as my highest score. I thought about it, and there is NO science in the science section. It is exactly the same as the reading section. I would say DONT SKIP THE PASSAGE. especially on science because you will get sooooooooooo confused. The questions are literally directly from the passage. and I know that sounds like it would take awhile but think about it this way: If you spend more time reading thoroughly, you will be able to go through the questions easily and quickly without going back to the passage and searching frantically. If you do go back, you will know exactly where to look, therefore taking much less time. It really worked for me on reading, and when you think about it, the science section is formatted the same way.

Thanks a lot! I will try that method.

Skim the introduction to the experiment and jump straight to the questions. Refer to the graphs/charts that the questions ask you to refer to and answer the questions to the best of your ability.

Got a 35 Science on the June ACT.
