science at williams?

I am a senior in high school looking to apply to Williams College. Because I have heard little of Williams, and because I was just accepted to the diversity visitation program, I would like to know more about the opportunities offered to an undergraduate student with the hopes of attending medical school. Would Williams be the right place to go if I want to go to medical school? Would I be better off at a large university?

I'm thinking of majoring in neuroscience, or maybe even one of the pure sciences. I also play violin a lot, and wouldn't mind minoring in music performance. How's music at Williams?

Thanksssss.

Our science departments and facilities are very strong and well-funded. In terms of education, I don't think there is a vast difference between learning the sciences at Williams and learning them at a place like Harvard. However, in terms of research opportunities, I'm of the opinion that one would be far better off at Williams. At larger institutions, research priorities are almost always handed out to graduate students. However, dozens of Williams undergrads perform science research both during the school year and the summer. Moreover, rest assured that going to Williams would be an excellent choice if you have your sights set on med school. We are ranked behind only HYPS in terms of acceptance rates to the top med, business, and law schools in the country.

The music department and opportunities for performance are strong at Williams. To be fair, the music major focuses more on musicology rather than performance. However, we have several student ensembles. The local Berkshire Symphony is composed of 50% Williams students.
