Okay, so this summer I did a research project at UCI for a week (like all the experimental stuff and collecting data). It's obviously not a super complex research project, but I did learn something.

Question is- I want to write a report and submit my work to a science competition. Now I've only seen/ heard of the Intel and Siemens competitions, both which seem crazy competitive. They both have about 1,200+ submissions and they take around 300. Which one is harder? I'm thinking Intel since it's solely for Seniors and it says they suggest you start as early as Freshman year.. That's crazy! Looking at the winners for both of these competitions.. these kids are crazy smart..

Soo.. should I submit my research project to one of these anyway? I mean my project isn't exactly ground breaking and theirs seem really impressive.. I don't want to be a finalist (not like i ever could haha) but I would hope maybe semifinalist ie. one of the 300.

Also, are there any slightly less competitive but still prestigious/ notable competitions?

Thanks you guys!!
