Science major or dual degree program for occupational therapy?

Hello,

I'm currently a student at Kingsborough Community College and I've been looking into pursuing occupational therapy. The only issue is, since my current major doesn't cover most of the science prerequisites. I did contact Stony Brook and a few other colleges on their dual degree programs. And I just learned that Stony Brook is transitioning into a masters program and dropping their B.S/M.S. for next years prospective occupational therapy students.

But first, are there any pros and cons of dual degree programs? Is it true that you have to keep going until the master level, meaning they cannot earn the bachelors separately?

Are there any majors other than health science that maybe suitable towards a masters in OT or do just the science requirements toward the masters program weigh more?

On that note, would anyone have any input on Dominican College or CUNY York college and their dual degree programs?

It's just that I feel a little limited in terms of OT programs I can find in the CUNY/SUNY systems, tuition cost and concerned about using public transportation to commute upstate (if that's feasible).

Thank you.
