What science would you recommend taking? Which one is easiest?

go to clemson.courserank.com, sign up for an account and look at the course ratings and reviews. That should give you an idea of what the easiest science is. My advice is don’t take Biology.

what do you think about chemistry?

I took chemistry with Dr. Pressprich and it was awesome. I really understood chemistry for the first time. Another good CH 101 teacher is Dr. Schvaneveldt (something like that haha)

While I can probably venture a guess at the answer to this question, I might as well ask: what’s your opinion on Physics?

I took Amy Pope and she wasn’t all that exciting but people say that Jason Brown sucks. (unfortunately he is the only teacher for Physics II next year).

I’ve taken the first semester of Physics without calculus and the two semesters of general chemistry. I also had Pope for Physics and found that she isn’t the best, but I do believe she looks out for her students and tries to make the class manageable. With decent test grades it would be very hard to make below a B in that class.

The same is pretty much true for Chemistry. Although with Chemistry the tests are not teacher specific. All the teachers that teach Chemistry make up the tests so it is possible that a question or two on the test would not have been covered by your teacher. This never happened to me though. It is also pretty hard to make below a B in general Chemistry.

If you want to spend the least amount of time in lab go with Physics. The Chemistry labs are scheduled for three hours and depending on the TA sometimes take the entire time. The Physics labs however are an independent grade and were the best labs that I had last year. They are scheduled for two hours, but most of the time last only an hour.

I agree about the labs. I was required to spend all three hours in physics lab but the labs rarely took 2 hours and I often finished my lab reports in that time and I had no extra work outside of lab. In chemistry, lab reports are written outside of class since the actual lab will take a lot of time.

What’s the opinion on astronomy?

The class is online and people have said that it’s easy. Just be sure you’re motivated since you will be responsible to do all the work and learn by yourself (no class attendance).

There is a lab section that I think you have to attend though.

Are all the courses online?

Because this class listing has at least ONE class with times available. Maybe I could get lucky and get it?

[Schedule of Classes](http://soc.clemson.edu/ASTR.FALL.htm)

oh wow I didn’t know they had an actual class, maybe this is the first year they’re doing that.

If you’re not comfortable doing it online, take the class. If you’re not sure, check ratemyprofessors and if the professor has a good rating, take the class, if not just stick with online i guess?

Nice, I’m definitely going to attempt taking the class now. My orientation isn’t until July 7th, though, so I better keep its existence on the DL.
