I am looking for high ranked and selective schools that allow for a double major in business and in Chemistry?! Any suggestions?

berkeley’s haas school of business is a great business school, and i’m pretty sure they allow you to double-major with the school of chemistry. i’d check on the website, though!

In theory, this is possible at many schools. However, it would require very careful schedule planning, and possibly going in with AP and/or college credit, if the majors have a lot of course requirements (business often does, and chemistry often has labs which can be tough to schedule with a lot of other courses the same semester).

But what is the reason? It is not like majoring in chemistry upgrades one’s job and career prospects much, compared to just taking the desired courses of interest in the chemistry department.

You can pretty much do this at any school that has both majors but it requires careful planning from your first semester. You would want to discuss this with your academic advisor from the start.
Do double-check each school’s website for their rules and policies on double-majoring though!

If you want to get out in four years, double majoring in business and chem would be very difficult. The only requirement that overlaps is calc. A more realistic option would be majoring in one field and taking a minor in another. I know of at least two students majoring in business but minoring in a science at Emory.
