Score and how you studied

HOw did u study for each section plus your score/.

2380(780 CR)

Blue book + Online Course

2240 (770CR)

Kaplan + Princeton + Grubers + Online Course + Blue Book + Mcgraw Hill

I bought more than 15 books, each company makes more than 5 books,
CR prep, Writing Prep, Math prep, + Whole + Superbusy students +
blah blah blah

2320, took one practice test.

took a SAT prep class. did a practice SAT every saturday over the summer. did some last minute vocab cramming.

got a 2380 (780 writing: 76/80 MC and 11/12 essay)
the "fixing error" part on writing kills me!

kills you by 20 points. o no, lol. i got a 2220 and did nothing

FOr math, the best way is to join the math team ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Preferably in middle school, but at least a couple of years before the actual test. If it's too late for you, at least let your friends know.

2400, a few sections of one practice test in the blue book. In general I don't recommend my approach, I got lucky.

re: a778999 yeah, SAT math is more "trick" based than normal HS math, but the problems don't really require the same level of problem-solving as math-teamish problems. But math team IS awesome in general, never mind SAT prep.

1520/1600 (CR 800 M 720) top 5% in my high school, top 5% for verbal in hs
2200/2400 (W 680, not retaking, 11 essay, grammar errors)
Gruber's Complete Preparation for the New SAT, 10th ed. (book, ~$20 at B&N)

I'm pleased with my score, went up 190 pts, all in verbal.

COLUMBIA HERE I COME!

Math: 640 -> 770

with Barron's math workbook & the blue book

2230, none

780-CR, read Catch-22, it has a lot of SAT words in it

Yes krbanks, but if you can do well on math team, you can definitely get a good score on math SAT. It takes away the stress of explicitly trying to prepare for it.

Also, it gives you another extracurricular activity, killing 2 birds with one stone.

isn't this thread supposed to HELP low scoring people prepare for SAT?
All I see are people who are bragging that they're geniuses, and that they
got 2300+ without prep

550 -> 620 in reading.

reading classical litrerature thanks aplit (invisible man, frankenstein)
and then just reading good books on the side (life of pi, 1984)
and a barron's vocabulary book with pictures HELPED SOO MUCH

and i also did like every test in the blue book and looked at my mistakes carefully unlike the previous times

pgcokie- title is "score and how you studied"
