Score Choice

Hi everyone,
I recently got back my ACT score, and I’m thrilled with the results, and it’s definitely going to be the test I’m using for college admissions. I haven’t gotten back the SAT yet from June, but I do think my ACT will be better regardless. I know the concept of “score choice” doesn’t exist at all schools, so even if I were to send in my SAT score from June, colleges would see my past 2 attempts. Because I intend on using my ACT score for college admissions purposes, do I still have to send in my SAT scores to schools that don’t have score choice as an option? My SAT scores aren’t bad, I’m not worried about that, I’m just wondering if I could save some time and money by just submitting my ACT score instead and not even worrying about College Board score reports.

Thank you!

There are very few schools that require you send scores for all tests taken. Stanford is one. Most will allow you to send either the ACT or SAT. Check each of the colleges that you are interested in to see what they require.

Georgetown wants everything. Every test and every type.

Colleges set their own policies; there is no standard. In general, if you take both SAT and ACT, Stanford, Georgetown, and Barnard are the only colleges that require all scores from both.

But you really need to confirm with each of your target colleges,
