For Neymar11
First the best book to get is Red ACT Student Book, It has 5 practice tests and it is made by the makers of the ACT, so you can trust on the integrity, hardness, and scores gained from the test.
(This is my first practice test)
- I took 4 of the practice tests in the book and got scores of ( 31,32,34)
- From these practice tests I gained knowledge on how the test words questions and how they want you to answer certain types of questions. (This is very important and is the main way to improve a score because, knowing what to look for saves you time and helps you be more accurate while answering questions)
- Also to improve grammar, English Section, the best way is to get a grammar book and read it, for me it was the English 3200 with writing Applications
-For Math and Science i have natural ability which i always score well, but take the practice tests as a minimum way to know what they ask for on the test - To get a perfect on the Essay like i did i basically used my writing style from essays in AP CA which is general statements and thesis, combined with very specific evidence like referencing studies and articles in the essay to augment my points, as well as very eloquent language
-The Reading is my worst subject and by taking practice test i look for the types of questions like what the mood of the passage, emotions of characters, etc. and then learn when and where to find each in a normal passage - Also when i study and take practice tests i take them with friends in my study group who individually got a (33/34 me), 34, 35, 28. I feel it is more fun to study in a group and that way i don’t feel a daunting feeling which i do while taking tests by myself
