Score Reporting: Bad Scores

Hello Everyone,

This is more of a technical question. In January, I chose to do the free score reports to colleges before taking the SAT. Although my score wasn’t horrible, it certainly wasn’t good enough for the colleges I sent it to. My question is: do colleges keep track of and record the scores? Will they know it when I apply in the fall? I plan on sending in my ACT score, which is much higher, but will the score sent in January negatively affect my application?

They do keep track of them (you would be upset if they lost them when the score was good, right?). But they will use any higher score received for admissions consideration. Don’t worry about it.
