I'm writing a paper in class about how a lot of students every years self-study for AP's. And prior to CC, I never heard of self-studying and nobody at my school knows what it is and cannot even wrap their mind around it. For informational purposes, i'd like to know:

-What score(s) you got for self-studying AP's
-What were you reasons for doing it
-And what advice would you give to someone who wanted to do so

AP Psychology
Score: 5
I was a sophomore in high school
I originally started self studying because I knew that I would not be taking many AP courses in school since my school does not offer many. Then, I started actually becoming very interested in it and now I want to major in psychology in college.
I would say that if you want to self-study psychology, go for it. It’s very interesting, at least it was for me. It’s also not a lot of material; all I did was read the Barron’s AP Psych book and then cram with flashcards at the very end. It’s literally all memorization. I made some neat little tricks to remember things too!

I decided to self-study it once I realized I wouldn’t have room on my schedule to take it junior year (and I didn’t want to take it senior year).

I want to major in it and my school didn’t offer AP Psych. I started studying mid-April and basically crammed the last 3 days in.
This year I think I will self study AP Calc AB. I think you should do it if you want college credit or just to make your application look better, and for me I just read through the Barron’s book and made flashcards.
