Screw writing papers!!!!!!!!

Over the past week of my senior year (already into my #1 college too so i have virtually no motivation) I have had to write a 6 page lab report for psych, an 8 page paper about economic indicators, and am currently writing a 12 page "dual lit" paper about two books that I have not read..

anyone else have any last minute papers they have to do?

a 12 page paper in high school?! that’s kind of crazy. what class is that for exactly?
i have some late papers to write, but they’re only 1-2 pages each. i hate writing long papers. for me, it’s like repeating everything i wrote.

it’s for a class that is a program at a local university. If you get a C or higher, you get college credits without having to take an AP exam, but the work is so crazy and the teacher has his masters (and everything else) from Columbia University- probably the hardest class i’ll ever take in my life. Someone who goes to Cornell right now said his first semester wasn’t nearly as hard as this guy’s class lol

Got a B+ first marking period, but now i am at an 81 so this paper is kinda do or die for me lol

wow, that sounds really tough! at least that class will prepare you for the future! good luck with your paper (:

12 pages isn’t that much for high school. My AP English term paper was 30 pages. :D

^High school =/= CC.

thx sky lol

yeah pro- there was a 25 page paper for AP English last year (so i didn’t take it) :)

just the fact we have 2 weeks for this during mid term stuff and other huge essays makes it a large burden. It’s also every marking period

I know what you mean. I have a 4-5 page paper due Tuesday. And …here’s the real kicker…a 50 to 70 page paper due tomorrow. (unfortunately that paper still has to be in size twelve font, not like I can enlarge the words…darn!)

^Make the margins 1.25", put the page number in with the text, and make the bottom margin 2". Works every time :D

I had to do an 8 page paper in middle school >.>

Leaf—thanks for the suggestion, that does sound enticing. …what other unnoticeable formatting things could I switch up?
:D. hah

I always do mine on the last day. I started at 11:45 P.M. once, but then I fell asleep and woke up at 6:00. I skipped first period to finish writing it.

Make sure every paragraph is just long enough so that 1 word is on the last line. This way you maximize your length and make your paper easier to read.
For instance:
The tax forms will be due
on April 15 or something.

can be changed into
The tax forms will be due
on about April 15 or
something.

studious- do the period trick! do you really have a 50-70 page paper though? that’s absurd.

Whats the period trick?

Yeah…50-70 pages…We had nine weeks to write the essays. And the nine weeks prior to that we had to write another 50-70 pages. So, in the first half of the year, in that class, the minimum amount of writing to be done was 100pages. I have to put all my writing together and see if I have enough there. I’m afraid to do that, thinking what would I do if I only had 28 pages? Argh.

The period trick is making all the periods size 14 while the text remains size 12. You can go a bit bigger, maybe 14.5 or 15 point font for the periods, but it gets notable. I think you just do ctrl+F or command+F if you’re on a mac and use the “find and replace” function. There’s a video about it somewhere on FB. Like in the “writing my papers single spaced makes my double spaced result climactic” or something group.

^Seconded. I’ve been waiting for high school to end since the summer before sophomore year.

I have to admit…my favorite year of high school: freshman year.
