All I submitted to all of my colleges regarding FA was the CSS Profile. Is there something else I should have submitted?

I'm pretty sure you were supposed to submit the FAFSA too. Also, Princeton has it's own kind of invididual financial aid application that you were supposed to submit...I think by February 1. Princeton doesn't require the CSS Profile, but a lot of the information that is used on the Princeton fin aid app is similar to the CSS Profile.

you didn't need the CSS for princeton. only their fin aid form which was the link under the application on their site.

i guess you could call and try to explain but i don't know whether or not they'll allow you to submit a late one. it's worth a try anyways.

also, i think you were supposed to submit income tax returns

another related question: has anyone been notified if their financial aid forms are incomplete? b/c i never handed in my non-custodial profile for compelling reasons. and princeton still hasn't contacted me about it. i tried to explain it in the spaces for additional information, but i don't think princeton waived them just based on that.

Yeah I forgot to send the Princeton Application, but I guess it's a moot point, because my fafsa efc was MAX.

what happens if you don't pay taxes? there'd be no forms to submit... so am i supposed to call them?

I marked that I was going to apply for FA, but then didn't. I got a letter from Undergraduate Financial Aid about a week ago asking me to call and tell them whether or not I was going to actually apply. Did any of you get this letter?

there is a supplemental form to complete if you are a non filer.

Where can I find that form???

sigh this is annoying. can't i just send them the UN forms?

If I don't get any message about financial aid stuff like incomplete forms and such, does that likely mean I didn't get in?

tj9854, i was worried about the same thing, but i hope that isn't the case!

lol.... this is what i call "paranoia-preceeding-admissions-into-princeton!"

There was really no creativity put into that! lol lol

I can answer a couple of questions. I did call Princeton Fin. Aid Office back in December/January and was told that if you file the CSS with them, they will just transfer that information into their application. But again, CSS is not required. Also, I called a few weeks ago to ask if I should fax our 2005 tax return, I was told it wasn't needed, but once we filed our 2006 in April to fax that over. They did not need the tax returns to formulate the financial aid packages at this time.

YEah.. I am wondering about the same thing as tj9854

does it work the reverse way? if I just got a letter (dated 3/21) about missing documents, does it mean I'm in? Do waitlisted people get calculated packages too?

Yeah I got one of those too. I'm inclined to think it doesn't but you never know.

I thought that the application only went to the financial aid department after the applicant has been accepted. My letter is dated March 9. If it was a form letter, wouldn't they send them all out on the same date?

i have heard, and truly believe that the financial aid office and admissions work almost completely independent of one another. just as a notice of missing documents from the admissions office does not imply anything about financial aid, it doesn't work vice versa, either. I think the fin. aid office calculates packages for all applicants (how hard can crunching numbers through a computerized model be, anyway), and then the ones that are accepted get the fin. aid offer at the same time.
