Did I screw up?

So I had a really tough semester, which I'm not gonna list why because in the end, medical schools don't want to listen to it, neither does anyone here, I think.
So I withdrawed Physics this semester and got a B in Bio II, an B+ in Writing II and my grade for Chem I will still come, but will be on the range of C+ to B-. I have a 3.73 GPA so far, and my only B was at Pre-calculus (not a math person). On top of that, I'm at a community college and plan on applying to my dream school next semester (to enter in Spring 11). Did I screw it up?

Summing up:
Bio II B
Writing II B+
Chem I C+ to B-
Phys I W

Semester GPA: 2.82
Overall GPA: 3.41

Any advice?
I'm freaking out

no one? nervous

Definitely not. Don’t let one semester let you down. What year are you? A 3.41 overall GPA is not that bad. What about your sGPA? You can definitely raise that cGPA up to a 3.6+ to make you more competitive. Just don’t let down and keep on fighting.

Is the reason legit? Ie was it something other than you didn’t want to get up for class, or you were busy partying or something? Medschools will listen if you actually have a good reason.

As for your grades I don’t suppose you have a premed advisor you could talk to?

Your overall GPA is ok so I wouldn’t be worried. Really the only thing to be deeply concerned about here is if you got that C in Chem which will hurt you but once again, one C and one W will not kill you.

If you can work hard for the next few semesters so that this one is an oddity then it will be fine. If you keep on having semesters like this then you might be in trouble.

That was the second semester of my first year. My parents moved and are now living in the US with me and my 9-year-old sister… Meanwhile, my mother got laid off and her boss didn’t wanna pay the unemployment insurance, so we had to solve the appeal problem and all (I did, and am the only one who speaks English in my house). Besides, I got an stomach infection and missed almost 3 weeks near the finals. Just a lot of things that wouldn’t be a problem if didn’t come one at a time, they just seemed to pile up since April. My sGPA reflects my regular GPA (especially because I just have taken 3 classes that are not STEM, which were the 2 Writing, Intro to Psych and Gender Studies Seminar). I want to double major in Neuroscience and Psychology and I was planning on transferring to Smith or Mount Holyoke College on Spring 2011, which I think will have to be deferred to the Fall 11 because of these grades. =(

Note: I’m at a community college right now, all advising I get about my pre-med is what I ask from friends and this forum.
