What are the benefits to going to Scripps rather than Pomona, if you were to be accepted at both?

The atmospheres--social, residential, and academic--are quite different. Your question is a fairly common one, though, as the two schools share plenty of applicants as well as admitted students.

As a Scripps grad who once looked at multiple Claremont schools (Pomona included), I'm very glad that I wound up where I did, but it does give me a bit of a bias! So, rather than my listing all of the reasons I'm glad I went to Scripps instead of Pomona (most of which are subjective), it might be helpful for you to say a little bit about what you're looking for in a college, what's important to you, what your interests are, what your personality is like, what you're not looking for in a college, etc. so that posters can respond. It might also help if you addressed any concerns you have about either of the schools.

Sorry that I'm not just answering you directly, but both Scripps and Pomona are fantastic schools, each of which will be ideal for some students, and less ideal for others. I don't feel that a subjective list of "Scripps is better at X, Y, and Z, and Pomona students are too A, B, and C" would be fair to either school, or very helpful to you. I definitely plan to respond, but hopefully with a little better aim :)

Out of curiosity, have you visited both campuses?

I asked a similar question a while back. There was some good discussion.

Here's the thread.
