scripps vs. vassar vs. cmu

can someone elaborate a bit on the differences between these schools? the websites for all of them seem to emphasize a focus on 'interdisciplinary' learning but is that just a buzz word for all colleges?

When I was applying to schools, I never looked at vassar or cmu (assuming carnegie mellon?), so I can’t really give you the comparison your looking for, nor do I think you’ll find someone who can give you an unbiased comparison of the three.

At least at Scripps, interdisciplinary learning is the backbone of the academic program-- it is the rationale behind everything from the Core program, to study abroad, to self-designed majors and independent studies. I’m sure there are many other liberal arts colleges who embrace the same philosophy, and that kind of “interdisciplinary” learning is perfect for students who love to know about all kinds of things, or have very wide ranging interests. You can probably get similar educations at many different colleges, so try looking at the disciplines you’re especially interested in, opportunities in those departments or the colleges, college community, etc.
