How can you see that mail is coming?
Informed delivery through USPS.
So the envelopes in earlier thread are for WEBER not general admission envelopes. Got it.
Cut them some slack. They have a record number of applications during a public health crisis. We waited this long, I’m sure we can we a bit longer.
No slack will be cut. It is 2022. We have the technology. This could be done better and more compassionately for the tens of thousands that will get denied. Just my opinion, having gone through this once already and suffering through it again this year. I will patiently await the wave that includes our decision but i won’t enjoy doing so. It is worst for the kids who sit through three weeks of their friends getting accepted, refreshing constantly, only to be denied the last week of March. Horrible.
My daughter was accepted in early January, and then was invited to apply for the Weber Honors program. So she was already admitted when she got the envelope accepting her into Weber yesterday.
Correct.
I’m wondering if they trickle out the acceptances to monitor how many students decide immediately to accept the offer and put down the deposit so they can adjust the numbers of other decisions they are holding on to. Might not be the case, but the thought has crossed my mind. I realize students have until May 1 to commit, but some commit immediately upon their acceptance.
Nothing in the mail today. Anxiety to continue.
Feeling very fortunate for the early acceptance to SDSU but I do wish they had drop dates like other Universities. EA, ED, RD. It can be devastating to get the rejection but at least you know and start to move on.
I wonder if WHC sends out rejections or if you just don’t receive an acceptance?
The WHC invite announces an Honors Preview Event (virtual) on March 19 to learn more about the community.
rsvp required by March 11. Not sure if there will be more of the same, but if this is the only one, it seems logical that all WHC invites would be done before March 11. Hopefully no one has to wait that long.
for your daughter.
edited to add: It also says to check email in coming days for more information. So just in case the USPS gets delayed, perhaps some will learn via email.
Perhaps @Gumbymom can provide more info on the timing of WHC acceptances.
If you go to the USPS site you can sign up free for informed. USPS emails you scanned pictures of the mail pieces you get daily. It’s helpful when you are expecting something important.
Last year my daughter applied to Weber’s after the priority deadline and still got an acceptance. She applied on March 23rd and received acceptance on 4/12.
FWIW, my daughter has higher stats, more APs, DEs, and focused EC’s and yet she did not receive an early acceptance/honors invite as my son did in 2018. She is applying for a performance major though so either she didn’t make the cut or the school processes those acceptances differently given the supplemental application deadline is December 31st. If accepted, wonder whether SDSU will offer WHC to her still?
I’m pretty sure they will let her because my daughter was allowed to apply and she did not receive an early acceptance. I think it’s open for all accepted students to apply. They do have a priority deadline like I mentioned, but it didn’t have a negative impact on my daughter.
She can apply to the WHC now, without an acceptance. I believe the website says they can still offer limited spots, to some that apply after 2/1.
Thank you and yes, just reading about the program and FAQs.
Thank you. Will have her take a peek at the application!
Sorry to bother, but was this notice in the package or a separate email?
She hasn’t received an email, but we can see a package was supposed to be delivered today, but held up in Atlanta.
Ugh, one frustrated girl, who is chatting with others, that all received packages today.
It wasn’t a package. It was basically an envelope (a mailer that was folded and closed with stickers).
