SDSU Admissions Class of 2026

Oh well maybe she just didn’t get in. I’m not sure if they all come out on one day or not. It’s a little frustrating that it’s not more coordinated, like other colleges.
Thanks for all the insight.

Where are you located? I think the people who got envelopes today are in California. It could be another few days before everyone gets them.

We are in Virginia. But I think she is chatting on the college app, Zee Mee, with a bunch of girls that have been admitted and are considering rooming together.
Some on the East Coast, received their acceptance today.
Then I gave her hope, because I used the USPS app to look and there just happens to be a package, with no description, stuck in Atlanta.
Honestly it’s not a huge deal, I think it’s about the validation for her. And helping narrow down people, to potential room with. She says it feels like online dating😩

D did get WHC acceptance today. She was accepted to SDSU in December.

Your D should check to see if she could room with the girls she met even if she is not accepted to WHC.

Check last year’s thread to see how the acceptances came out. It might be that they trickle out.

My daughter didn’t like the online dating aspect at all. I understand the kids wanting to make friends before getting to school and finding roommates but mine let the university match her and they are now best of friends, didn’t meet until move in day. It all has a way of working out. It can definitely appear that everyone finds friends and finds their roommates, but it’s such a small fraction of the freshman student body. Many many kids let the university match them.

If you accept your invite to Weber’s your roommates will be Weber’s students as well. This year the Weber’s dorm is Zura, but the building itself is a mix If Weber’s students and non Weber’s students according to what floor you are on.

Thanks! Do you happen to know if it’s hard to get a single dorm room in Zura as a Weber student? I know it’s extra $$.

There are singles, doubles, triples and quads. You can mark your preferences on the questionnaire but it is not guaranteed.

Thanks!!

Just curious did your daughter get what she requested? I see you can pay more for a double or single, just wonder if they typically over enroll.

Yes, she asked for a triple and got one. Edited to say the triples are really double size rooms that they make into triples. .

Consider researching how big the singles are. I know the building is totally renovated, but I lived in a single in Zura in the 90’s and it was the tiniest room and the small window looked out to the elevator entrance. Hopefully they turned those into storage when they did the renovation. But, definitely research that! I still have PTSD from that room. LOL!

Would you mind speaking to how your daughter is doing on the weekends. We are hearing SDSU can be a bit secluded, because it’s far from the city & beaches.

Since the kids can’t have cars on campus I’m a bit concerned.

Yes that was the first thing we noticed that there isn’t much beyond campus and the restaurants. However, campus is huge and there is lots of socializing in the off campus housing areas and in the dorms. Often kids just get Ubers and split the costs so it just a nominal expense to either go to the beach or downtown. My daughter is always busy. Takes some time to find people to hang out with but it does happen. In her experience joining a sorority helped with that, but as I mentioned there are not enough spots for everyone who rushes. Sometimes she and her friends take the trolley on campus and go shopping, but more often than not it’s Uber. She is not bored, that’s for sure. Edited to say that there are tons of clubs students can join which help a lot! My daughter has several friends in different clubs and they are always planning activities and socializing that way, and the clubs are extremely welcoming.

The SDSU students also get a discount on the SD Trolley Pass. The Green line has a station on campus and there are 2 shopping malls along the line including the San Diego Mission, Old Town, Seaport Village and the Gas Lamp Quarter. Students can also connect to the other 2 Trolley lines. Here is a map attached to see where each line goes. As noted above, plenty of on-campus activities which are sponsored by the SDSU parents association. The Viejas stadium hosts sporting events and concerts. My son found no lack of things to do.

Do you plan to visit the campus? My suggestion if you plan to visit, stay at the Doubletree Hilton Mission Valley. It is located across from a Trolley Stop on Hazard Drive and explore San Diego without a car to get an idea of what she can do minus having a car on campus. We even did this for my son’s graduation so we did not have to deal with parking issues on campus.

Thank you!
When we went to visit the campus just seemed so far from everything.
My daughter doesn’t seem to be worried about it— quoting Uber & now deciding to rush. She’s also the type to go to any sporting event.
Looks like she’s getting mail today from SDSU so ~ fingers crossed that’s it’s for Webers.
