Here is the link to SDSU admission data for 2021-2022. It contains average GPA data for admitted students. https://asir.sdsu.edu/Documents/CommonDataSets/CDS_2021-2022.pdf

The CSU system does not have a space on the application to for outside activities. It is grades only (used to include test scores too). Waiting for admission decisions for a Class of '26; oldest graduated SDSU a few years ago. Great school.

Do you know if there are stats on admissions to Webers Honor College?

From the Weber’s Honors college FAQ:

How many applications are typically received for the Weber Honors College each year?

Each year, we receive approximately 2,300 applications.

How many new freshmen enter the Weber Honors College each year?

What is the average GPA (weighted) for applicants?

Typically, the average high school weighted GPA is approximately 4.42

hey bestie im in state but have very similar stats (4.2, 6 aps) and also applied to business advertising. i got in in back in december so if you haven’t heard yet, her odds are probably really good

Oh congratulations, I didn’t think Webers decisions were out yet. She’s been admitted SDSU but hasn’t heard back from Webers yet— hopefully soon!

Removed because my response was to an older post, and the board has moved on from this topic.

I think the average gpa is highly misleading. No one gets in with an average or low gpa unless they are an athlete or have priority as a local. To be transparent, they really should publish the gpa by student type:
Local with priority
non local Ca
out of state
international
athlete.
They get 100k applications every year but accept very few students. If you are a non local CA student who isn’t an athlete it seems like you need a 4.0 or higher to even have a chance.

You can get some of this here (oops, this is csu lb). I could have sworn I found it for SDSU but google is failing me.

Thanks. Shows 4.01 for CS in 2021. Seems on the lower side considering all the students who did not get in last year.

I made a mistake and that was CSU LB. Trying to find the correct source for SDSU.

OH MY GOSH… that link is a gold mine! Would love to see it for sdsu if anyone can find it. Amazing data that really drills down to specific levels and clarifies the picture. Awesome!

I think that’s right. That’s why UCs publish “Admission by Source School” data (i.e. admission numbers and average GPA by high school). That gives a better sense of what is really required for any given student. I wish the CSUs had similar data.

I can’t find it. I was able to determine that for Fall 2021 at SDSU average CA gpa was 3.88 and OOS was 3.65. Interesting tradeoff.

Some data at the college level within SDSU.

Yah, i think i did some similar calculations a while back using their data visualizations to figure out some benchmarks for local vs non local.

My older child goes to sdsu now. He is a junior.

My younger child is currently awaiting his admissions decision. He is a transfer though.

Hi Just curious…How is it that some in-state students have already received decisions? I know SDSU admits OOS students and some high stat students early, but many of the kids from public high schools in our area in Northern California have already received their acceptance (some not super high stats). Thanks everyone!
