I’m talking y’all its because you don’t live in the area.

Hey guys I have a 3.06, I was wondering when I apply this October for fall next year, they will wait on my grades from the upcoming semester? I did the math and if I get all A’s this semester my gpa I I’ll be raised to a 3.2-3.3. Do you think that will be enough to get me in? If I get all A’s in spring (if they wait for that too but I doubt it) then it will be a 3.4-3.5. I got the Cs because I had to stop going to physical class and start taking online courses and I’ve learned online isn’t my thing. I’m confident thes the next two semesters I will get straight As. I’m applying as an accounting major btw.

Are you in the SD area? If so you have a good shot… If not… I don’t even know.

Yeah I’m in oceanside however; I can see being told to go to San Marcos. I really prefer sdsu for numerous reasons excluding the partying.

I am not sure I would transfer after I started a graduate program. Schools are pretty picky about their graduates getting credits form their own school. It might also take you longer to get your degree if they require you to retake a classes. You could contact San Diego if you are adamant about transferring, they should be able to give you a better idea. Something else for consideration, you may have to submit all the same data you did before.

I think Oceanside is in San Marcos’ service area. Now here is the bad news, San Diego only uses your grade 10-11 GPA for admission but your GPA cannot drop in your senior year. None of the schools use your senior year grades.

The Cal States use the following formula for admission,

SAT GPAx800+SAT critical ready and math score only
ACT (GPAx200)+(ACTx10) use the composite score

If the school is in your local service area you get extra points on your app… Here is a link for the Cal state service areas

Good luck to you.

Okay thanks for that I’m in community college right now though. I’m st 45 credits at the moment, need to take another 24 or do to finish prerequisites and gen ed courses.

Sorry straw, I wasn’t thinking about the topic of this thread. I do think you have a good chance to get in but keep trying to improve your grades.

sorry to bring up an old topic

but going back to one of my old post about switching into a non popular major like stats was easy. all i did was sign a paper , get it stamped and dropped it off at the appropriate place.

Wait, nujabes29, why did you switch into a non-popular major? just curious
