SDSU OR UNIVERSITY OF SAN FRANCISCO???

Any opinions or advice for which school is better.

For which major?
Cost differences?

Where would you prefer to spend the next 4 years?

Nursing
Daughter can’t decide

Cost differences?
If you check the NCLEX website for pass rates, SDSU is 95.31% and USF is 96.72% so pretty comparable.

If costs and academics are comparable, does social scene play a part? Have she visited both? Have you compared class sizes for each university and curriculum?

@lastofthree - Has she visited both campuses yet? That could be a major influence as some people fall in love with their school when they tour it. Does she want to stay close to home, or move farther away? Will the costs of the school affect her decision? Personally, I think both schools are on the same level when it comes to Nursing, and ultimately it might come down to which school shes sees herself at. If she plans on joining a sorority, apparently, USF Greek life is not emphasized all that much, while SDSU Greek life is more prominent.

The NCLEX pass rate for USF is about 90.22% (2016) from 184 people taking it. The SDSU NCLEX pass rate is 95.31% with 128 people taking it.

Here are some general comparisons between USF and SDSU:

As of yesterday, she has visited both places… loves SF! She did received a scholarship from USF as well. I’m just concern about the job opportunities after graduation.

@lastofthree: San Francisco/Bay area vs San Diego/Southern California? She should plenty of job opportunities anywhere in California.

Sorry gave wrong NCLEX pass rate for USF. Looked out UCSF instead.

Thank you for advice. My daughter will be deciding this week for sure!
