^^ @teachingmajor So did I, I am not either! I called admissions office and they said it was a mistake to ignore it…but decision still pending
@hannaf okay I’m assuming they sent it out to everyone with a major that offers the AA-T AS-T transfer. Since my major was listed on the list I’m guessing they just sent a mass email to those who have that major. I’m sure we won’t hear back until early April because they have to review everyone from our major with the AA AS to see where the ones after they admit those are qualified or offered admissions
True. I’ve already sent an official transcript stating that I’ve received an AA-T in sociology. It says received in the portal. Do you think I should call Mesa and ask them to send one just incase? I sent that transcript a long time ago I believe on Dec 1st ( before the supplimental application).
Does SDSU group/review the ADT applicants and regular applicants separately. I feel like each group is independent so ADT applicants will be competing only against others also with the ADT. Except you’re not competing against those with lower gpas because SDSU has minimum GPA requirements for each Major. With limited space you are competing against someone who is exactly like you, the same GPA in the same major, for that priority admission seat. IDK if this makes any sense but it could explain why there is much variation between gpas admitted/denied. If two applicants with an ADT have a 3.62 in business they would rather have the 3.62 who lives in SD, but if the SD transfer has not completed all of their prereqs yet (even though they will by the end of spring 2017) and the “opponent” from SF already has, the seat may be given to the non local who looks like they are further along and closer to graduating. Similarly those who are at a 2.9r will be competing against another with a 2.9. If they do not make it they are rejected or stay pending to be evaluated again with incoming ADTs?
For regular transfers they have to use the random draw because we have a bigger pool of people and can’t favor students with higher gpas. I guess since we were given the choice to apply for ADT and have a priority consideration they do not look at our pre-reqs as much in this group and allow this lottery type process to occur. Rejections will probs be given to those that did not satisfy the gpa requirements when they were first reviewed. From then on they just use these random draws (not sure how many picked/each time) and base decisions off of the completion of the golden 4, location, and transferrable units currently, which should take a while. Those that do not make the random draw that day (which is the day the admit status changes) are rejected?
This probs makes no sense and I’m probably thinking wayyyy to much about this but ughhhhh.
@bird04 Wait, that’s ridiculous! You should appeal if you have a 4.0… O Chem isn’t even a pre-req for the major!
Economics Major from the bay. I have already been accepted into CSULB . Does anyone know when the rest of the transfers will get notifications? Some people have already gotten them a few days ago. I can’t handle the stress anymore hahah
@Bayareapug Econ major from LA. Still waiting here too
I wonder if that’s for all Econ Majors?
@Bayareapug Are you getting an ADT?
@Bayareapug @filmfiend91 nah i’m not an ADT. I just think they’re releasing by major and ours hasn’t came out yet
Yeah I’m also not an ADT
SDSU is in my top 3 . Next week I know if I get into UCSC and the week after I’ll know if I got into UCSB.
I went ahead and started the appeals process for my application. I want the committee to at least LOOK at my application. I will feel better knowing that it was opened and I was considered properly, instead of just thrown out because my name wasn’t drawn out of a hat.
I can’t take it anymore hahahhaha
I should have been patient instead of checking everyday because it doesn’t seem like science majors are even out yet or anytime soon, probably last X_X
If anyone wants to get to know people admitted or interested in SDSU I started a Facebook group! Feel free to join!
Darn sorry about the link not working, totally forgot about the whole “no outside social networking links” rule.
@filmfiend91 Thanks so much for creating a group!!
Hi @mgcc027 I am a psych major that got accepted into SDSU. I talked to my cousin who is an SDSU alumni and he said it really depends on if you specialize in a major. It’s much harder to get in if just apply to the general major and do not specialize. I specialized in I-O which isn’t as impacted as general psychology. HOWEVER, you are extremely qualified applicant with a higher GPA than me so you should have no problems getting in. Also, if you applied with a completed AA-T, applicants aren’t supposed to know until mid to late March.
@bird04 you had a 4.0 and got denied admission? That’s ridiculous.
