SDSU Transfer Decisions Thread Fall 2017

Hi everyone! I’ve been following this thread for some time now and finally decided to join in.

Major: Health Communication (Comm studies at other schools)
GPA: 3.8
AA-T: Yes, finishing it up this semester
Golden 4: Currently enrolled in the required math, the other 3 are complete
Status: Pending
Local?: No, LA county
Other Schools Applied to: CSULB (Accepted) , CSUF (Accepted) , CPP (Accepted) , SFSU (Accepted)

I’m not expecting to get in but I’m still hoping a little bit - I really just want to have an answer instead of “pending” at this point

I haven’t seen anyone else mention being a Health Comm major, not many Comm majors either, anyone out there? Lol

Still pending …

Having to wait this long to be denied is annoying [-(

Hey there
I as well have been following this post for some time and just Wana join in now…
Major: kinesiology - excersie science generalist
gpa- 3.97
AA-T - yes, mandatory
Golden four- yes
Status - pending
Local- no from Orange County - saddleback

Major prep- missing one, that was not offered at my community college

Also I am a great applicant because for semester courses like bio 20 at my school , I did a year of classes like bio 3a and bio 3b. Did this for bio chem Antatomy physiology and mircro

If I don’t get in the system is rigged … just sayin

So I was reading over my post and I realized I posted my major as psychology: exercise science generalist emphasis, and I just must’ve been so tired that day because that is impossible lol. My major is Kinesiology: Exercise science generalist emphasis. I don’t know why I put that lol.

also still pending as of today but I think it’s because I am receiving an AA-T, so we will see. I will be at the SDSU open house if anyone else will be there!

Do you think it is worth traveling the ~2hrs to go to the open house if they haven’t sent me their decision?

@ccc2csu4transfer I’m from nor cal and I’m going even though I’m still pending.

@filmfiend91 Thank you! My #1 choice is actually Cal Poly SLO which is still pending but if i dont get in then its either going to be SDSU or SJSU. I’m not sure quite sure yet which one I would go to.

Has ANYONE heard anything ?

We’ve all been forgotten.

just a head up on the portal for the aat conformation it says allow up to 5 business days for you status to be updated so we could potentially find out as late as wednesday

My admssion status date changed from Oct. 5 to March 15 but im still pending… Is that bad??? Im also doing an AA-T

Hey all! I’m a student at SDSU graduating this semester. I remember how terrible it was to await the admission decisions. I transferred from NorCal, so I’m happy to answer any questions about transfer admissions that I can. To answer a previous question, students are listed as “pre-major” until all of the lower division major requirements are completed with a C or better. Then you’ll be officially admitted to the major and the “pre” will drop. Good luck!

Does applying with an AA-T make a difference in possibly getting accepted?

What majors are the most impacted?

Yes, applying with an AA-T/AS-T does make a difference! Not as much if you’re local, but I’m the only person in my program who isn’t local and I applied with an AA-T. My husband and I were both admitted to separate majors (one Social Science/one Art), whereas many of the other transfer applicants who weren’t local were not admitted without a transfer degree. Our GPAs were good but not stellar. I don’t believe either of us would have been admitted without them.

SDSU has all majors listed as impacted, but I can only really speak to my major since it’s been a couple of years. I will say that coming in as a transfer gives you an advantage because you transfer as a junior. Those who start as freshmen have a lot of hoops to jump through to get GE and major prep classes, and they do so with more competition. Coming in as a junior means higher enrollment priority.

@Courtc08 I’m local and still pending … GPA not stellar as you mentioned. I have an AA-T in sociology. Do you believe it’s bad that I haven’t heard back by now when so many people have?

I wouldn’t read too much into it. I was in one of the last waves to find out. My husband found out almost a month before I did, and I didn’t hear back until April 9th. It was absolute torture! Just hang in there! I will say that I didn’t wait for an email notice–I refreshed the portal page until my status finally updated.

So I am still pending as of today but they finally changed my AA-T preliminary verification status from. :x: required to :white_check_mark: received so hopefully I will be hearing back soon! The wait is killer but this is my dream school so I can wait !

@AnonymousCrash Same here! It’s a relief, it’s been pending as X for me too for the longest time.

@winonos yay!! It felt like a huge weight just suddenly lifted from my shoulders when I saw that received button! I did the verification back in middle of January!! Hopefully we both hear back soon.
