Really hoping we don’t need to wait until April!
Has anyone visited SDSU as well as another CSU? how does it compare?
@ccc2csu4transfer I visited a lot of the CSU and UC campuses around the time I applied. Where else were you looking?
@Courtc08 CSULB, CSUF, SFSU, CPP - I haven’t been able to visit the first 3 yet but i do know CPP’s campus a bit from going to highschool nearby
@MrGonzo9733 ahhh my fellow pending comrade keep me up dated with your app. status.
I haven’t visited CPP or SFSU, but I’m really familiar with SF because we used to go a ton when we lived up north. Beautiful city! The down side is that the living expenses are higher than SD, and SD is really expensive! If you attend SF, plan for cool weather and wind.
CSULB: It’s a fun campus. The student union is pretty cool. It seems pretty laid back, but the neighborhoods are only okay. It’s not the safest place to be. However, I would have applied anyway if they offered my major for the location.
CSUF: Clean and open campus. It was pretty quiet when I visited, but it was cool. I have a friend who is an alumnus of Fullerton, and he loved it! If you’re a Disney fan, the location is primo. Again, you really can’t go wrong with SoCal weather. I don’t know if any of that helped, but there you go!
@Courtc08 thank you for your imput! i’ve heard SDSU has more of a university environment compared to the other csu’s and I think that will have some weight in my final decision (If i am accepted, that is)
I mean…I’m biased, but SDSU is set up nicely with the library and bookstore at the center of campus. It’s a really great school. Also, the architecture is the same throughout, and it’s just gorgeous. It’s so walkable and big. I’m sure other students feel the same way about their schools, but I can understand why it would be hard to turn down if you are accepted. Ultimately, you have to do what’s right for you. Look at the cities with opportunities for your career path because it will mean more internship and employment opportunities along the way. Being around people with whom you can connect and in a location where what you’re doing is impactful really matters.
I haven’t seen anyone with a science major post whether they got accepted or not, does this mean they haven’t got to it yet? :-/ fingers crossed it’s by the end of this month cause waiting for April is too long :-SS
@Courtc08 thanks for responding back. I ask because a friend of mine applied for the sociology program with his AA-T & a 4.0 GPA & was rejected. He is not a local.
I applied for the psychology program via an AA-T with a 3.8 GPA, and of course, like everyone else here, I’m also worried especially because I’m not a local transfer either. I guess it’s all up to chance. Needless to say, SDSU is obviously my #1 choice. I’m still waiting on CPP, while Cal Poly SLO & CSUF accepted me already. Excited nonetheless
New to College Confidential, hi all! I applied to SDSU last year and got accepted on March 3rd. I’ll be attending the Explore SDSU Open House tomorrow too to look at housing & more programs since I already submitted my intent to enroll. If anyone hasn’t gotten their acceptance/denial yet as a business major, here are my stats to compare:
Major: Business Marketing
GPA: 3.73
AA-T/AS-T?: Yes business AST, but doesn’t apply to marketing at SDSU
Pre-reqs: Completed, several in progress this semester
Golden 4: Will be done by Spring 2017
SD Area?: No, from Orange County area
I’m not sure how people are getting denied with 4.0s, but one of my friends was also accepted as a business admin major with a 3.4 and he’s not local, but did have AST to help.
I’m still waiting
Major: Kinesiology
GPA: 3.9
AA-T/AS-T?: Yes (AA-T)
Pre-reqs: Most, except for two courses that were not offered at any of the schools near me
Golden 4: Done
SD Area: No, Venture County
Other schools applied to: East Bay (accepted), San Fran State (accepted), Monterey Bay (accepted)
SDSU status: pending :-SS
@UniqueGeek I know from my sister’s experience transferring that completion of all prereqs is more important than GPA.
Hey Guys! Do you know if they’re going to notify science people tomorrow? I’m too tired of waitinggggggg
@Ucsdsdsu you should probably call SDSU anytime past 10 AM to check. I think they released by major since no one has posted on the forums that Econ majors or a couple other majors didn’t receive a decision and I don’t think people received decisions last week. Anyone that is an Economics major and receives any sort of decision please @ me!
Anyone with Sociology as a major get in … let me know!
just a heads up last week i posted that those who submitted the aat confromstion will hear back no later than wednesday (reading off the portal). I misread. It says to allow up to 5 business day (this wednesday) to update your status details which is that green check confirming they got it or for some it may still be a red x but they will update it by wednesday. So i dont know how much longer the wait will be but sorry for the false hope
Just to let everyone know I looked at last years thread and the day everyone heard back was 4/7 4/8. Alot of acceptances on 4/7 and denials on 4/8.
I think MrGonzo9733 is correct.
Well from what i saw on a discussion from last year a lot of people heard back between the 29th of March and the 4th of April. Mostly Accepted but a lot more rejected for being out of local area even with a high GPA.
